Résumé anglais The historical analysis of electoral phenomena. The expectations of a political scientist, Daniel Gaxie. In his own language, a political scientist questions electoral histories and wishes for a better coordination of the respective efforts of history and political science to break through the voting secrets of contemporary France. His argumentation and questions deal essentially with the problems of electoral mobilization, of electoral behavior and of voting procedures. How has the voting reflex been acquired since 1848 ? What was the exact role of political parties in educating the electorate ? What is it that makes one vote for a political family : socio-demographic characteristics, more irrational forces, the mood of the times or political marketing ?
