| Résumé |
La confrontation de quatre écrits récents, dont trois travaux d'exégèse critique se rapportant à David Hume, Georg Simmel et Pierre Bourdieu, permet d'interroger les théories de l'action et en particulier la notion d'action rationnelle que Hans Joas propose quant à lui de remplacer par celle d'« agir créatif ». Après avoir passé en revue les principaux reproches qu'adressent ces auteurs au modèle de l'action rationnelle, on présente et évalue leur manière d'aborder le thème de l'action humaine en étant spécialement attentif aux risques possibles de dérive par excès de relativisme ou, à l'inverse, d'objectivisme. Il ressort que les critiques et propositions avancées n'obligent nullement à renoncer au paradigme de l'action rationnelle, mais invitent à l'amender par une meilleure prise en compte des passions et des croyances. Jean-Hugues Déchaux : Rational action under debate. Regarding several recent contributions and reflections.
The confrontation of four recent written works, three of which are works of critical exegesis referring to David Hume, Georg Simmel and Pierre Bourdieu, allows one to question the theories of action and in particular the notion of rational action which Hans Joas proposes to replace by « creative acting ». After having examined the main reproaches made by these authors as regards the rational action model, there is a presentation and evaluation of the way in which they deal with the theme of human action, paying special attention to the possible risks of drifting off subject due to excess of relativism or, on the other hand, of objectivism. The result is that the reproaches and propositions put forward oblige nobody to abandon the paradigm of rational action, but invite one to alter it by taking passions and beliefs into account more.
