Résumé anglais Behaviour of investment and introduction of new technologies, by Michel Norotte, Jean Bensald. Ever since the first oil crisis industrial investment in France has been marked by persistent sluggishness. Looking beyond quantitative development however capital formation is undergoing profound structural alterations characterized by a move towards investment in productivity and the gradual spread of new generations of capital goods high in electronic content. The description of this phenomenon which makes up the first part of the study suggests the idea od differing investment behaviour related to different types of capital equipment. The study goes on to propose various empirical attempts at macroeconomic modelling of the different types of behaviour, all of which cast reservations on the efficiency of traditionnal aggregate functions of investment.
