| Résumé |
L'océan Atlantique, jadis aire de réalisation personnelle, devient un espace subi. L'irruption de non-professionnels, les réglementations, l'intégration au mouvement économique général dévalorisent l'image de la profession de marin-pêcheur. En Méditerranée, le plaisancier égale dans l'art de naviguer le pêcheur d'étang, récemment converti à la mer côtière. Le temps libre, les voyages à l'étranger, la participation à la vie politique locale rendent les styles de vie davantage terriens. Les marins de commerce résident hors des ports, qu'ils ne contribuent à animer qu'en période d'escale, phénomène complexe, dessinant un territoire constitué d'itinéraires, ainsi que de rares points de contact avec la société urbaine. Les quartiers maritimes, en majorité occupés par des gens de pêche, quelques matelots du commerce et dockers, perdent leur tonalité océane. The Atlantic ocean, which was in the past an area of personal achievement is now becoming a non active space. The emergence of non-professionals, the rules and the integration to the general economic movement tend to depreciate the image of the population of fisherman. In the Mediterranean, the amateur sailor is, in the art of sailing, as good as the pond fisher who has just been converted to the inshore fishing. Free time, travels abroad, involvement in local political life have changed the way of life ; these are becoming much more like the ones of landsmen. The merchant sailors live out of the harbour and only take part in its animation at a period of call, strange phenomenon which draws a territory made of initeraries and few points of contact which urban society. Coastal areas, mainly peopled with fishermen, a few merchant sailors and dockers, are losing their oceanic complexion. They are breaking up with the appearance of peri-urban districts.
