Cet article porte sur l'étude du couple territoire/transport, appliquée aux cas de la métropole lilloise et du littoral Nord-Pas-de-Calais. A travers des approches existentielle, morphologique et organisationnelle du territoire, il montre que le T.G.V. vient appuyer le renforcement d'un territoire métropolitain lillois, tant d'un point de vue spatial que politico-institutionnel. En revanche, le système d'infrastructures (tunnel, T.G.V., autoroute) sur le littoral occupe une position plus ambiguë face aux enjeux d'identité territoriale. Source : Éditeur (via Persée) |

This paper considers the relationship between transport and territory. It compares two geographic areas of Nord-Pas-de-Calais region: Lille metropolis and the coastal zone. Three complementary approaches are developed, regarding existential, morphological and organizational analysis of the territories. From the spatial and political-institutionnal point of views, this paper shows that the choice of location T. G. V. in the city contributes to the affirmation of the Lille metropolitain identity. On the coast, the situation is more complex and the configuration of the infrastructure system (highway, channel tunnel, T.G.V.) points out the ambiguity of the territorial affirmation.
