Les patrons dans la statistique officielle française.

Dans cet article, il est principalement question de repérer l'émergence et les déplacements de frontières de la catégories des patrons dans la statistique officielle française mais, également de rechercher comment, après coup, ce collectif social a été différencié tout en se demandant pour quelles raisons il en a été ainsi. De ce fait, de 1951 à 1982, la différenciation des patrons, une fois introduite dans la statistique officielle française, a été principalement transformée en relevant la barre qui distinguait les «petits» des «gros», alors que de 1851 à 1896 le travail des statisticiens avait été de distinguer les patrons des salariés, ou en d'autres termes, les dirigeants des dirigés. Bosses in the French official statistics.

This article is principally concerned with the location of the emergence and the movement of frontiers of the category -patrons- in the French official statistics. It also looks at the ways in which this social group was afterwards differentiated and why it happened the way it did. Between 1951 and 1982, the differentiation of «patrons», once introduced in the French official statistics, was principally transformed with the elevation of the frontier between «small» and «big» patrons. Between 1851 and 1896, the work of statisticians had been to distinguish between «patrons» and «salariés»-, on the long run, the meaning of the word «patron» in the official statistics has hanged and the category has shrunk.
