	Résumé	Dans la période 1950-1960 la ville de Braşov connaît un changement d'identité, en recevant le 22 août 1950, dans le contexte politique de soviétisation de la Roumanie, le nom de « la Ville de Staline ». L'étude se propose d'examiner la manière dont le régime politique fonde la nouvelle identité, en nous appuyant dans ce but sur l'analyse de trois composantes : les manifestations politiques consacrées à cet événement, l'ensemble de statues et de marquages symboliques de l'espace et le discours officiel thématisant le développement de la ville. La nouvelle identité sera centrée sur le caractère industriel et ouvrier de la ville,rompant avec un passé avec lequel elle se construit en antithèse mais qu'ellecherche en même temps à assimiler. 	Résumé anglais	‘‘Oraşul Stalin'' (Stalin city), 1950-1960 : The Political Construction of an Urban Identity During the period of 1950-1960, the Romanian town of Braşov undergoes a change of identity, by receiving at the 22nd of August 1950 the name of ‘‘Stalin'' (in a general context of Soviet influence over Romania). The present study involves the analysis of the manner in which the politic regime builds this new urban identity.The study focuses on three elements : the political manifestations dedicated to this event, the assembly of statues and symbolical spatial marks and finally, the official discourse regarding the development of the town. The new identity is built around the industrial and working aspects characterising the town, also around the idea of breaking with the past, which is negatively perceived, yet necessarily to incorporate in some measure in the new identity.
