Le débat sur un assouplissement de la pénalisation de l'interruption volontaire de grossesse au Maroc s'est accéléré en 2014-2015 à l'instigation du président d'une association, gynécologue-obstétricien, et de la diffusion d'un reportage sur une chaîne de télévision française. Représentants des partis politiques, religieux, représentants de la société civile, administration publique ont alors manifesté des positions contrastées, voire ambiguës, à l'égard de l'attitude du gynécologue président de l'association qui a porté le débat et de la question de l'avortement. L'ampleur publique prise par le débat a été stoppée par l'intervention du roi Mohamed VI qui a tranché en faveur d'un assouplissement a minima de la loi. L'article, fondé essentiellement sur des articles de presse, retrace la dynamique de ce débat et de sa conclusion, et montre en quoi cette dynamique est illustrative de la gestion de la « chose publique » au Maroc. The debate on a relaxation of the penalization of the abortion in Morocco accelerated in 2014-2015 at the instigation of the president of an association, gynecologist-obstetrician, and the diffusion of a report on a French television channel. Representatives of political parties, religious, representatives of civil society, public administration then expressed contrasting or even ambiguous positions with regard to the attitude of the gynecologist president of the association who led the debate and the issue of abortion. The public scope of the debate was halted by the intervention of King Mohamed VI who decided in favor of a minimum relaxation of the law. The article, based essentially on press articles, traces the dynamics of this debate and its conclusion, and shows how this dynamic is illustrative of the management of the "public thing" in Morocco.
