À la fin du mois d'avril 1943, à Grenoble alors sous occupation italienne, quarante militants de la vie juive se réunirent sous l'impulsion d'Isaac Schneersohn et décidèrent de créer le Centre de documentation juive contemporaine (CDJC), alors appelé le centre Schneersohn. Fondateur d'une historiographie, premier centre d'archives disponible aux chercheurs sur le destin des Juifs de France pendant la guerre, le Centre se confond aujourd'hui avec la mémoire de la shoah portée par les Juifs français dont il est le dépositaire. Pourtant, en replaçant l'acte fondateur dans son contexte historique, on est amené, dans un premier temps, à séparer la légende de la réalité. | |
| Résumé anglais | The Creation of the Centre de documentation juive contemporaine in France (April 1943), Renée Poznanski. At the end of April 1943, in Italian-occupied Grenoble, 40 militants of the Jewish life met under the impetus of Isaac Schneersohn and decided to create the Centre de documentation juive contemporaine (CDJC), then called the Schneersohn center. The founder of a historiography, the first archives center available to researchers on the destiny of French Jews during the war, the Center today is associated with the memory of the shoah borne by French Jews of which it is the repository. However, by putting the founding act in its historical context, one can begin to separate the legend from reality. | |
