Résumé anglais |
The new dynamics of agriculture and rural economy in India There is a noticeable relaxation of agricultural policies from Pakistan to China, since the green revolution (1960-80), with a resultant fall in public expenditure and the consequent slowdown of growth. India's case illustrates these trends which explain the current need to improve rural infrastructures, research, extension services, increase rural loans and eliminate environmental degradation in order to reduce poverty. The government has taken this path since May 2004 though its efforts are curtailed by stringent budgetary constraints. Source : Éditeur (via Persée) |
