Les fédérations sportives se sont structurées, au cours du
XXe siècle, en s'adaptant à leur environnement culturel,
économique, social et politique. Leurs valeurs fondatrices,
leur mode de fonctionnement, la diversité de leurs parties
prenantes en font des organisations singulières. Sont-elles
gouvernées avec la même singularité ? L'analyse s'appuie sur
la notion de gouvernance et les modèles empruntés
aux théories des configurations organisationnelles et
du changement. S'attachant à des phénomènes peu étudiés,
elle ouvre de nouvelles pistes de compréhension et

The governance of sports federations. A framework for analysis and action.
Sports federations are structured, during the twentieth century, adapting to their
cultural, economic, social and political environment. Their values, their modus
operandi, the diversity of their stakeholders make federations as singular
organizations. Are they governed with the same singularity? The analysis is
based on the concept of governance and models borrowed from the theories of
organizational configurations and change. Focusing on little studied
