?L'UNIVERS POLITIQUE DES MILITANTS SOCIALISTES : UNE ENQUÊTE SUR LES ORIENTATIONS, COURANTS ET TENDANCES DU PARTI SOCIALISTE, par ROLAND CAYROL
Les congrès des partis socialistes constituent des moments fondamentaux pour la vie interne et l'orientation de ces organisations. Les participants représentent les différents courants du parti, et sont un reflet du noyau le plus militant des adhérents. Une enquête par questionnaire, administrée à 383 délégués au congrès national du PS de juin 1973, permet de préciser l'image politique du parti et des tendances qui le composent, à partir de questions portant sur la hiérarchie d'urgence entre un certain nombre de problèmes politiques, et sur la sympathie à l'égard des autres forces politiques et des syndicats. Différents traitements statistiques font apparaître que le PS est devenu un grand parti « multiforme », ancré à gauche, réunissant en son sein plusieurs courants politiques relativement homogènes ? les tendances « de gauche » se révélant dans l'ensemble les plus cohérentes.

?THE POLITICAL UNIVERSE OF SOCIALIST MILITANTS : A SURVEY OF THE ORIENTATIONS, CURRENTS AND TRENDS IN THE SOCIALIST PARTY, by ROLAND CAYROL
Socialist party conferences are of fundamental importance for the internal working and orientation of these organisations. The participants represent the different currents in the party, and are a reflection of the most militant element among its members. A survey carried out by means of a questionnaire completed by 383 delegates at the 1973 Socialist Party Conference gives an accurate idea of the political image of the Party and of its trends on the basis of questions concerning the different degree of urgency attached to a number of political issues, and sympathy towards other political parties and the unions. Different statistical methods show that the Socialist Party has become a big « multiform » Party, rooted in the left and encompassing several relatively homogeneous political currents ? « left » trends showing themselves to be on the whole the most consistent.
