Résumé anglais Roger Girod : Educational systems and social mobility. This study indicates the types of education adopted by children from various social classes in a given European town, and more particularly their choice and development during the decisive periods of their schooling and professional training. The statistical distribution of the pupils varies according to each social class, but on the whole there is a remarkably strong tendency towards social mobility, although the sex of the individuals is also an important factor. This study deals with children aged from 12 to 17 and considers their development from elementary school to specialized studies or their first professional activity.
