Franco Ferrarotti : Social change and social sciences in Italy.
The author studies the evolution of the Italian society from the point view of urbanization and industrialization and points out the divorce the traditional structures of this society and the individuals' adaptation to technical civilization. Going further, he makes a critical analysis of research in Italy and suggests some means by which it could contribute ease the irreversible process of the social change in progress.
