L'article porte sur la découverte du monde industriel par des réfugiés d'ethnie hmong arrivés du Laos en France après 1975. Leur insertion sur les postes d'O.S., modifie leurs représentations du travail, produit une égalisation socio-professionnelle intra-ethnique et un nivellement inter-ethnique par rapport à d'autres populations côtoyées dans la société de départ ; elle participe aussi activement aux processus d'intégration à la société française. La mise en relation de ces effets avec quelques caractéristiques socio-ethniques et historiques permet de saisir un mouvement social plus complexe qu'une simple prolétarisation. Elle rappelle enfin que, pour certaines populations migrantes, l'organisation réglée du travail reste un des points d'échoppement majeurs pour s'intégrer à une société « moderne ». Jean-Pierre Hassoun : Hmongs in the factory.
The paper deals with the discovery of industrial world by Hmong refugees who arrived from Laos in France in 1975. Their recruitment as unskilled workers modifies their work image, leads to an intra-ethnic socio-professional equalization, and produces an inter-ethnic levelling when compared to other populations belonging to their original society; also it influences strongly their process of integration in the French society. Linking these effects with several socio-ethnic and historical characteristics leads to a better understanding of a social move which proves more complex than a mere proletarization. Finally, it shows that for certain migrant populations, organizing their acces, to the labor force is a major problem of their integration into a « modern » society. Source : Éditeur (via Persée) |
