S'il existe aujourd'hui en sociologie un certain nombre de tentatives pour montrer l'importance de l'étude des émotions et pour les situer d'un point de vue théorique, les travaux empiriques ne sont pas légion. Dans le champ de la socialisation des émotions, les études sociologiques empiriques sont encore plus rares. Fondé sur une recherche auprès de 67 enfants, ce texte montre tout d'abord comment ceux-ci définissent les émotions de manière générale. Il étudie ensuite ce qu'ils révèlent de leur vécu émotionnel à l'école et dégage un certain nombre de dimensions qui peuvent servir à l'analyse de leur discours. Puis il entreprend une analyse différentielle des émotions des enfants à l'école ainsi que des constellations émotionnelles qui s'en dégagent et invite les sociologues à s'attaquer plus systématiquement à l'étude des émotions. Cléopâtre Montandon : Process of socialization and the emotional background of children.
Despite a number of attempts in sociology today to show the importance of study on emotions and an theoretical interpretation, empirical studies are not the rule. And, in the field of the socialization of emotions, empirical sociological studies are rarer still. After a brief reminder of certain works on the subject, this text first shows how children define their emotions globally. It then goes on to what children reveal of their emotional experience at school, putting forward a number of lines along which their words can be analyzed and giving a differential analysis of children's emotions at school and of the emotional constellation which is generated.
