| Résumé anglais | THE CATHOLICISM UNDER THE FRANCO REGIME IN THE EDITORIALS OF THE SPANISH DAILY « YA » (1939-1945) In the early years of the Franco regime the discourse of Catholicism continued building up its new-found identity, an identity which had sprung from the Spanish civil war. It represented itself as emanating from the discourse of general Franco, who himself is raised to a state of sacredness by it. In spite of the fact that Communism was repeatedly invoked as being the enemy, the real target of the attacks of the discourse of Catholicism was that of liberalism. | |
