L'occasion procurée par l'ouverture de nouvelles archives permet de reconstituer et de suivre avec précision le processus de prise de décision au sein du cabinet du Premier ministre Chaban Delmas en 1969-1972. L'on peut préciser les rapports de forces avec les autres pôles du pouvoir exécutif dans le domaine de l'économie. L'on peut discerner les jeux d'influence et d'expertise dans la définition, la compréhension et la mise en œuvre des grands projets concernant la modernisation et les restructurations de l'industrie française tant privée que publique. L'histoire politique et l'histoire économique convergent pour dessiner plus avant le fonctionnement de l'appareil économique d'État à l'apogée des Trente Glorieuses, mais alors que le pays est confronté aux défis de la compétitivité imposés par l'ouverture européenne et internationale. Thanks to the disposal of new archives records, an opportunity has been provided to reconstitute and to follow precisely the process of decision making within the cabinet of Prime Minister Chaban Delmas in 1969-1972. We can precise the balance of power with the other poles of the executive power in the sector of economy. We can draw the plays of influence and expertise when defining, understanding, and achieving big projects about modernisation and restructuring of French industry, either private or state-controlled. Political history and economy history converge thus to deepen the analysis of the functioning of the State economic organisation at the apex of the Trente Glorieuses, but whereas the country was submitted to the challenges of competitiveness imposed by the European and international opening.
