Résumé anglais J.-L. Triaud — A Case of Collective Conversion to Islam in the Lower Ivory Coast: Ahua at the Beginning of the Present Century. Ahua, a Baule village on the Bandama river, lost most of its importance as a transfer point on the trade route to the North after the French occupation. The first individual conversions took place shortly before World War I. Massive conversions took place some time later, when the village headman obtained his release from a French gaol thanks, reputedly, to the supernatural intercession of a marabout.
