A. Morel —~~ Dassa-Zoumé (Central Dahomey) : An Exemple of Urbanization in West Africa~~. The Yoruba town of Igbo-Idasa (= Dassa-Zoumé on the French maps) has developed mainly in the last forty years. Despite the high proportion of farmers among its inhabitants (there is a farm belt spreading as far as 40 km from the city core), it has developed real urban functions in the economic, political and administrative fields, providing both trade and services for the neighbouring district.
