Depuis quelques années, on parle régulièrement d'un « essoufflement » de l'altermondialisme. C'est le cas en Europe, mais pas nécessairement ailleurs, en particulier en Amérique latine, où se trouve désormais le cœur névralgique du mouvement. La crise récente l'a amené à opérer une profonde réorientation en ne s'intéressant plus uniquement à la mondialisation, mais aussi à la crise climatique et à celle de la civilisation occidentale. Depuis 2011, les altermondialistes doivent faire face au défi de l'émergence des mouvements des « Indignés » et de la démondialisation. L'altermondialisme n'est donc pas mort, mais il a perdu sa position dominante dans la contestation du système économique mondial et surtout il n'a pas été en mesure d'inverser le rapport de force face aux conservateurs. From the anti-globalization to the “Indignant” movement: a new impetus for contesting capitalism ?For a few years, we have been talking about the « breathlessness » effect of the alter-globalization. This is the case in Europe, but not necessarily elsewhere, and particularly in Latin America, where is henceforth the neuralgic heart of the movement. The recent crisis brought it to operate a profound reorientation by not being only interested in the globalization process, but also in the climatic crisis and in that of the western civilization. Since 2011, anti-globalization activists have to face the challenge of the emergence of the “Indignant” and the deglobalization movements. Alter-globalization therefore isn't dead, but has lost its dominant position in the contesting of the world economic system, and it was especially not capable to invert the balance of power in front of conservatives.
