Née des urgences de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, la Cimade a tout au long de son histoire cherché à être solidaire de ceux qui souffrent. Ce furent tout d'abord les populations évacuées d'Alsace et de Lorraine puis les internés. À la fin de la guerre, elle réorienta son action en direction des réfugiés avant de s'intéresser, à partir des années 1970, au sort des migrants. Ces évolutions, loin de modifier radicalement l'approche de la Cimade, mettent au contraire en lumière la constance d'un certain nombre de valeurs. La Cimade tente en effet de faciliter l'insertion des étrangers tout en défendant leurs droits ce qui l'amena à se poser la question du développement. Ces mutations eurent un impact non négligeable sur la structure de l'association, la manière dont elle communique et les liens qu'elle entretient. Source : Éditeur (via Cairn.info) |

Born out of the need to respond to the emergencies of the Second World War, the Cimade has tried throughout its history to give assistance to people who suffer. At first, it was the populations that were evacuated from the provinces of Alsace and Lorraine. Then, it was the internees. In the end of the war, the Cimade redirected its action to the refugees and since the 1970s it deals with the migrants. The evolution of its action does not radically modify the approach of the Cimade. On the contrary, it reveals its constant values. Indeed, the Cimade aims at facilitating the insertion of the foreigners and defending their rights and it was out of this action that the question of the organization's development arose.
