Politique africaine recently launched an ongoing discussion between researchers and practictioners of development on new trends in the conceptualization and use of international aid. The two following articles respond to the interview with Antoine Pouilleute, ex-director of Agence française de développement, which was published in our last issue. The authors question the relevance of the new paradigm mobilized by the international institutions, centered on the struggle against poverty, and evaluate the political impact of this new slogan.
