Cet article se concentre sur l'importance que recouvrent les termes : indépendance, égalité et possession dans la pensée politique de Saint-Just et sur l'originalité de la forme théorique du trinôme républicain à qui ils donnent vie. Cette fondation d'une nouvelle éthique républicaine, expression de l'affirmation de l'ordre moral sur l'ordre politique, et la régénération des mœurs et de l'individu sont pour Saint-Just le résultat du recouvrement des principes de la Nature, qui grâce à l'action du trinôme, empêchent l'affirmation de la coercition et de la domination. Dans la vision de Saint-Just, l'application de cette structure théorique originale consent, en effet, la réalisation d'une symbiose complète entre l'individu et la société qui ne se traduit pas dans la perte de la liberté individuelle, mais dans la réalisation d'une liberté républicaine entendue comme une non domination et conçue comme une garantie pour l'individu et pour la Cité républicaine1. This article concentrates on the importance of the terms « independence » « equality » and « possession » in the political thought of Saint-Just, and on the originality of the theoretical form of « trinome » republican. This foundation of a new republican ethic, the expression of the affirmation of a moral order on a political order, and the regeneration of « moeurs » and the individual, is for Saint-Just the result of the recovery of the principles of Nature, principles which by the action of the trinôme impedes the establishment of coercion and domination. In Saint-Just's view, the application of this original theoretical structure promotes a complete symbiosis between the individual and society. This does not mean the loss of individual liberty, but rather the achievement of republican liberty understood as non-domination, and conceived as a guarantee for the individual and for the republican city.
