Résumé anglais Using mobile devices for information, once the exception, now predominates, as portable or mobile units have become best-sellers, while the social networks to which these connect have never been so rapid and omnipresent. We are witnessing a revolution that offers challenges in technology, software and service design and ultimately to the end users and their uses. How can information professionals take advantage of this new type of information access? What services can they offer their publics and in what shape or form? For it will be vain to offer, on mobile equipment, simply a copy of existing websites. These are some of the questions that inspired our dossier. A variety of viewpoints will help us discover the wealth of the market of mobile applications and the opportunities they offer to I&D professionals.
