Cet article examine quelques moments décisifs de l'écriture de l'histoire au Brésil, ainsi que certaines spécificités de la pratique historiographique brésilienne au XXe et XXIe siècles. Nous nous intéresserons aux orientations théoriques, aux tendances analytiques, aux dialogues avec les courants historiographiques mondiaux, au travail critique des historiens sur ces pratiques, à leur définition de domaines d'intérêt, à leurs pratiques d'enquête et leurs conditions de travail avec les sources. Dans ce texte, nous aborderons deux champs thématiques choisis du fait de leur exemplarité : celui de l'histoire de la lecture et du livre, et celui de l'histoire de l'esclavage, avec comme problème de fond les implications politiques du travail historiographique et sa pertinence sociale. Brazilian Historiographic Practices at the Crossroads : Contemporary Challenges.
This article intends to reflect upon a few decisive moments of history writing in Brazil, as well as upon some specific aspects of Brazilian historiographic practices in the XX-XXI centuries. Our objective is to analyze them in regard to their theoretical framework ; their analytical tendencies ; their dialogue with other world historiographic trends ; the critical thinking of historians on their own work ; the definition of fields of interest ; the investigative practices and the conditions of research. Our path in this text is anchored in two thematic domains chosen for their exemplarity : the history of reading and of the book ; and the history of slavery, having as a backdrop the political implications of historiographic work and its social relevance.
