Résumé anglais |
Divinatory practice, conjecture and rationalist criticism during the Warring States period
In ancient China, there is a continuity between the evaluation of hints furnished by reality and the decipherment of hexagrams obtained by means of milfoil divination. Thus when someone like Han Fei criticizes divination, his goal is not only magic and superstition, but a mode of knowledge that claimed to offer a shortcut to the confrontation with reality.
