Helena Stone, The Soviet government and moonshine, 1917-1929.
The article attempts to explain the epidemic of homebrewing the Soviet society experienced in the 1920's by linking the production of moonshine with the fluctuation in the grain prices and with the Soviet government's policy towards the peasants in general.
