Part-Dieu station is an unique example of the construction of a great railway passengers station in the occidental world. It is born as a necessity of modern equipment to desserve the new track of high speed beetween Paris and Lyon : the T.G.V. But it is become by the way of a very modern spirit of management a decisive element of the Central Business District of Lyons. Its architecture, original, makes it at one and the same time, an urban « signal », a bond beetwen two quarters separated from long time and a service center.
