This study tries to account for the existence of country residences in the Mâconnais, by the method of multiple regression analysis. According to the site of the main residences of weekenders (especially those from Mâcon, Lyon, Paris) as shown on income tax lists, and in terms of demongraphic, topographic and tourist criteria, it is possible to define the various aspects of the new intrusion of the city into the rural environment.
