Malgré un certain nombre de convictions acquises après la Seconde guerre mondiale, la révolution écologique n'a pas vraiment encore eu lieu, si par révolution, il faut entendre un mouvement circulaire dont le point de départ et d'arrivée serait à chaque fois le même. À la différence que l'écologie d'aujourd'hui a changé de visage par rapport à hier. L'histoire est ainsi faite que le XXe siècle reste à ce jour le plus meurtrier que l'homme ait jamais connu. À charge aux générations futures de tirer les conséquences anthropologiques qui, manifestement, s'imposent. Et sur ce point, l'apport de la cybernétique est considérable en ce sens qu'elle est une modélisation de la relation entre les éléments d'un système à l'intérieur duquel la place de l'homme est peu à peu rediscutée, passant ainsi d'un modèle anthropocentrique à une perspective holistique où le tout serait supérieur à la somme des parties. The planet as our heritage : a cybernetical viewpoint If the word revolution refers to a circular movement where the point of departure and the point of arrival eventually merge, the environmental revolution has not yet really taken place despite a certain number of beliefs born after the Second World War. What makes the difference is that today's ecology has nothing to do with the ecology of the past. As shown by history, the 20th century has been, up to now, the most savage and bloodiest ever encountered by Man. Thus it will be the duty of the next generations to draw the consequences of this fact. On this particular point, the anthropological role played by cybernetics could be of the utmost importance since it consists in a modelling of the relationships existing between the various elements of a system in which the role of Man is more and more challenged, switching then from a anthropocentric model to a holistic perspective where the whole would be superior to the sum of the parts.
