Cet article propose d'analyser l'élaboration d'une prédiction issue d'un logiciel prédictif annonçant la fin du monde pour décembre 2012. S'adressant principalement à un public proche des théories apocalyptiques et des théories dites de la conspiration, les procédés narratifs des concepteurs de ce logiciel visent à générer un système de croyances autour de la capacité d'anticipation de leur système technique hybride. Ainsi, tout en insérant leur prédiction dans un imaginaire eschatologique plus large, ils présentent leurs énoncés prédictifs comme étant le fruit d'un savoir alternatif, reposant sur l'alliance de la science et de la métaphysique. How to create an eschatological prophecy through cybernenetics : The WebBot Project case This article offers to analyze the working out of a prediction issued by a predictive software which foretells the end of the world for December 2012. Primarily aimed at an audience familiar with apocalyptic theories and so-called conspiracy theories, the narrative process of the software designers aim at the creation of a system of beliefs regarding the capacity of anticipation related to their hybrid technical system. Thus, all the while integrating their prediction into a broader eschatological imaginary field, they display their predictions as the result of an alternative knowledge, based upon the complementarity of science and metaphysics.
