Non Economic Aspects of the Fairs and Markets.
Beside the economic transactions the importance of which is always growing less, fairs and markets assume symbolic and learning functions, as well as they consolidate kinship relations. An evolution in four stages can be observed ranging from the market, limited to the exchange of agricultural products, until the fair where different activities predominate which are no more commercial and which allow the farmer to react against the alienation from his work that modern standards of production and commercialisation involve.
