From Bottom to Top and from Top to Bottom : Political Clans in Corsica
Political clans in Corsica, once described, are shown to be both a culturally invented political dimension of a social organization and the relay of the State's power on the island. This interpretation disputes explanations that merely oppose a modern political system (the State) to local institutions inherited from another age and that restrict the analysis of how power is distributed in a modern society to the study of the national government and public authority.
