The heterodoxy of Marx's thought is commonly appreciated in respect to the principles of historical materialism. However, the place of historical analysis varies in the economics of Marx.
This paper emphasizes the decline of this analysis in the economics of the «old» Marx. This decline has two origins : the historical difficulties encountered by Marx with some «typical sequences »and the logical problems raised by the introduction of socio-historical notions in economic analysis.
