Hayek and the french school of "economics of conventions" have diverging positions on social philosophy. Nevertheless, they share similar critics with regard to the neo-classical rational choice theory. They also have in common close hypothesis regarding cognitive processes underlying the economic and social co-ordination. The concept of rule is at the heart of their analysis.
