Le recours à un écrivain public permet aux personnes en difficulté avec l'écrit de ne pas s'exclure des domaines administratif, professionnel et social. Le déficit n'étant pas seulement dû aux manques d'acquisitions mais aussi à la mise en oeuvre difficile des savoirs, l'échange avec l'écrivain public permet d'appréhender les divers obstacles et blocages qui ébranlent la confiance en soi. La rencontre avec l'écrivain public met également à profit les stratégies d'évitement, d'accommodation et la mobilisation des savoirs périphériques à l'écrit, par lesquels l'écriture acquiert son efficacité sociale. Help in writing : appealing to a public letter-writer -
Turning to a public letter-writer allows people with problems in writing not to be excluded from the administrative, professional and social fields. The problem is often not only a lack of acquisitions, but also the difficulty to bring knowledges into play. The relation with the public letter-writer allows then to cope with the different obstacles and blocks weakening self-confidence : meeting a public letter-writer helps people to take advantage from strategies of avoidance, adaptation and mobilisation of knowledges associated with writing, which gives it its social effectiveness.
