This work explores the notion of capitalist economic exploitation and the sexual violence on which the system of patriarchal domination rests. It takes as an example the Latin American situation, and argues that sexual violence and the femicides have their roots in the very construction of race and gender of capitalist political economy. On the other hand, it presents Gloria Anzaldúa's mestiza or “hybrid identity” consciousness as a project of resistance and confrontation against such corporal and economic violence.
