Résumé |
In Manila (Philippines), Médecins du Monde is leading a harm reduction programme amongst dismantlers of electrical and electronic waste. Through this pilot project, the medical charity is bringing this growing environmental issue within the scope of its activities. Above all, it is showing that health offers a short-cut way of reaching out to a particularly vulnerable community, overlooked by encouraging growth in the Philippines, and reduced to depending upon the scrap generated by our wealthy societies.
