Le phénomène de la partition a surtout été étudié par des auteurs anglophones de géographie politique. L'article proposé situe la place du concept dans l'histoire de la géographie politique. Les processus de partition sont examinés à travers des réflexions épistémologiques, théoriques et à travers une typologie. Enfin, on conclut sur la contradiction actuelle entre les tendances à la partition et le poids de la mondialisation. In the depth of political geography, partition has been mainly scrutinized by English-speaking political geographers. The suggested paper is showing the position of the concept within the history of political geography. The partition processes are looked into theoretical and epistemological reflections as well as into an attempt for classifying. Then, one concludes with the obvious inconsistency between the partitioning trends and the globalization weight.
