Résumé anglais Thanks to technical progress, legal evolutions and economic developments, our day-time activities (work, leisure activities, tourism) are progressively extending to the night and the opposition between days and nights is fading. Consequently, the city is profondly transformed, reorganizing itself around new meeting points and boundaries. These evolutions may lead to conflicts between the varied populations which meet at night. They also look like opportunities for public institutions, companies, inhabitants as well as visitors to take over the night as an accessible and welcoming public space-time, through public sector innovations in transportation or cultural equipments, or civic initiatives like « the Parliamentary Assembly of the Night » in Paris in 2010.
