The productivity is more subject of sector or national analysis than regional ones. The topic of this paper is the geography of the French regions' productivity in 1989. National private and public capital endowments have been share between regions with respectively activity tax bases and investment series as indicator. Results show that labor productivity is higher in the East than in the West of France ; it is the contrary for the private capital. The productivity of public capital opposites the North of the country with high values of productivity to the South with lower ones. The elaboration of production function allows to calculate global regional productivity. Ile- de-France appears clearly more productive than other French regions . Source : Éditeur (via Persée) |
