Résumé anglais Attending Walter Mignolo´s characterization of the coloniality of power this work describes Derek Walcott´s poetic search about a Caribbean Theatre. On that matter revises some considerations deployed in the essay “What the twilight says” (1971) where the poet considers the value of theater as cultural practice to question Eurocentrism. At last establishes relationships between decolonial response made in that essay and some episodes of the work Dream on Monkey Mountain first produced in 1967 and considered the most Trinidad Theatre Workshop representative work directed by Walcott between 1959 and 1976.
