Luiz Ruffato's pentalogy called Inferno Provisório begins with the first novel Mamma, son tanto felice (2005) which foreign title immediately brings out elements associated with mobility and immigration. This paper aims to debate the modalities of immigrant's representation in this novel which enters to the intimacy of a little Italian community based in the countryside of Minas Gerais. We are also interested in studying the place occupied by those immigrants in a space where the fluid frontiers allow any kind of mobilities and displacements, as well as their multiple trajectories which results in vagrancy and marginalization.
