Résumé anglais Over the past decades there have been two peer processes in the context of international migration and media contexts: on the one hand, Latin American migration flows intensified their internationalization to the North, especially the United States and Spain (Martínez, 2008, 2011); on the other hand, technological advances led to the cheaper transport and accessibility to new information and communication technologies, especially in urban environments (Castells 2006, Sassen 2001). The comparative analysis of these two processes allows us to understand how "territorial immigrants" become "digital immigrants" appropriating new technologies to maintain their social networks (Retis, 2008, 2011, Ramírez, 2006). This essay presents findings of an ongoing comparative analysis of the legacy media and new media in the Latin America's international migration towards the U.S. and Europe.
