This article aims to introduce a doctoral research in progress at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Brazil. The study is qualitative in nature and historic character, descriptive and interpretative and aims to develop a study of the Portuguese language (Brazilian variant) in Paraguayan territory during the 20th century. This proposal is configured from two specific and dialogical moments: in which proposes regional rescue the history of Portuguese language in Paraguay and microrregional in which we will seek to analyze, in this school, the context multicultural and plurilíngue, as well the educational practices assumed by teachers of the National College Santa Rita and the Paraguay-Brazil Private Institute of Santa Rita, located in the city of Santa Rita, West of Paraguay. Taking as theoretical assumption concepts of identity and interculturality in order to analyze the symbolic representations of the culture site. (Bhabha, 2010) that allows us to talk to the hybrid relationships and understand how the Brazilian immigration interacts with other identities in Paraguayan context.
