La promotion de la santé est cet ensemble de stratégies visant à conférer aux populations les moyens d'assurer un plus grand contrôle sur leur propre santé à partir de choix éclairés et responsables. Nous interrogeons les conditions d'existence de ce « pouvoir d'agir » dans le cadre particulier du milieu de travail. Nous cherchons à étudier les modalités d'instauration de ce pouvoir par les processus communicationnels, selon ce que De Terssac et Gaillard dénomment la « santé organisationnelle » (De Terssac, Gaillard, 2008), en tant que processus d'ajustement réciproque entre l'organisation et l'individu. Workplace Health Promotion and the establishment of empowerment : a balancing communication between the individual and the collective Health Promotion is defined as the process of enabling people to increase control over their health thanks to informed and responsible choices. The purpose of our study is to call into question the conditions of realisation of this “enabling to act”, this “empowerment”, in such a particular context which is organization. Our analysis focuses on the forms of institutionalization of this power of acting by the communicational processes. We put into perspective these elements regarding to what De Terssac and Gaillard (De Terssac, Gaillard, 2008) call « organizational health » as a reciprocal process of adjustment between organization and individuals.
