Après avoir défini ce qu'est la triche, une théorie des organisations, la théorie des parties prenantes, sera examinée sous l'angle qui permet de voir en quoi elle « impense » la triche. La triche, tout comme la conformité, le conformisme, la transgression et la déviance, est un opérateur d'identification du sujet (et non un défaut d'identification puisqu'il s'agit de rester dans le groupe même si c'est pour en contourner les règles à son profit). Et quand il s'agit de contourner des règles de la profession, la triche se trouve positionnée face à la déontologie. La notion a aussi à voir avec les mœurs et les règles. ‘Management by values' is based on presuppositions : the evidence of a positive content given to these values and a process of linkage between values in use and official values. This issue is blinding as far as it only allows to consider scandals as singular cases connected to the failure of such or such person. Cheating in business is a hidden but important issue. It is hidden to avoid to recognize the paradox of cheating which is not necessarily a ‘bad' thing because it can be considered as a source of learning. After having defined what is cheating, the stakeholders' theory will be examined to see how it is impossible to consider cheating according to it. Cheating, as well as conformity, conformism, malpractice and deviance, is an operator of self-identification. When it is question of by passing the rules of a profession, cheating is positioned in front of codes of conducts. The notion has also to do with customs and rules. It is not cheating which raises problems but its neighborhood with notions close to its borders: ‘regular - irregular - unhealthy' or ‘allowed - forbidden' or ‘malpractice - deviance', ‘order - disorder'.
