Le processus de paix, dont l'esprit est bel et bien enterré depuis plus d'une douzaine d'années, ne semble plus intéresser la communauté internationale. La « guerre des couteaux » a cependant relancé l'attention du monde sur Jérusalem et certains estiment qu'elle préfigure une « nouvelle intifada ». Pour comprendre ce mode d'action actuel, la première partie de cet article revient sur la temporalité des luttes palestiniennes contre Israël et en montre l'inefficacité, du fait de l'incapacité des Palestiniens à produire des modes de combat contre Israël et à s'inscrire dans une stratégie politique. En même temps qu'elle reflète le désespoir et le désarroi d'une société, elle ternit l'image des Palestiniens dont la violence semble « sauvage ». La Palestine, foyer de tensions historique au Moyen-Orient, semble aujourd'hui reléguée par les soulèvements et les guerres civiles de la région. La question palestinienne subit effectivement une marginalisation ; elle n'échappe pas pour autant aux logiques de radicalisations et de polarisation en cours dans la région. The pacification process, which is in fact buried for a dozen years, doesn't seem to get the attention of the international community anymore. Yet, the “Knives of Jerusalem” have drawn the world's attention back on the Israelian capital and some people think we are on the verge of a “new Intifada”. In order to understand this phenomenon, the first part of this article will deal with the chronology of the Palestinian struggles against Israel and show their inefficiency, because of the Palestinians' incapacity to produce efficient ways to fight Israel, and of their inability to place themselves in a clear political strategy. All this reflects how the Palestinian society is despaired, and at the same time, how the Palestinian people's image is damaged, for their use of violence is seen as a “brutal” reaction. Today, Palestine, home of historical tensions in the Middle East, seems to be relegated to a position of secondary importance by the revolts and the civil wars in this region.
