| Résumé |
Ce dossier, issu du colloque “La sociologie de l'éducation et les recompositions de l'État à l'heure de la globalisation et de la construction européenne” (INRP, Lyon, novembre 2010), rassemble plusieurs contributions qui mettent en évidence la constitution d'un univers cognitif commun à l'échelle européenne. Il est publié en français dans Éducation et Sociétés et en anglais dans Globalisation, Societies and Education. Cette co-publication correspond à la nature de la thématique. Une réflexion sur les références et les instruments qui sous-tendent la construction européenne intéresse aussi bien le lectorat francophone que le lectorat anglophone. Cette démarche correspond aussi à une nouvelle manière de faire valoir les résultats de la sociologie francophone au plan international. La sociologie de langue française se caractérise par des traditions : une réélaboration des questions sociales en problématiques scientifiques, le respect de l'indépendance académique, etc. Ces conceptions entrent en tension avec d'autres, portées par la mondialisation, qui prônent des rapports plus étroits entre science, politique et action sociale. Pour faire valoir au plan international l'éthique et l'épistémologie dont il est porteur, le monde francophone a intérêt à établir des alliances avec tous les partenaires qui, dans l'Europe latine, germanique et centrale ou dans les mondes anglo-saxons, partagent les mêmes références. General presentation The present dossier is a continuation of the 2010 colloquy at the INRP in Lyon which was called “Sociology of education and the recompositions of the State in times of globalisation and European construction”. It gathers several contributions which all highlight the constitution of a common cognitive system on a European scale. It is published in French in Éducation et Sociétés and in English in Globalisation, Societies and Education. This co-publication echoes the very nature of its thematics, since a reflexion on the references and tools that the European construction brings forward is of interest to Francophone and Anglophone readers alike. It also corresponds to a new way of circulating the findings of Francophone sociology internationally. French sociology is the bearer of certain traditions that go along with specific characteristics such as the reelaboration of social questions into scientific problematics and the notion of academic independence and so forth. These conceptions tend to contradict others which advocate a narrower collaboration between science, politics and social action and are being brought forward by the globalisation phenomenon. The french speaking world has an interest in teaming up with all partners who, in Latin and german Europe, in central Europe or within the English speaking world, share its references in terms of ethics and epistemology, if it wants to bring those values forward internationally.
